Ange Klute
"Hi! I’m Ange Klute (maiden name Kortum). I grew up in Hordville, NE, but I’ve spent most of my life in and around Central City—and it’s truly home to me. My husband Scott and I live on our family farm just outside of town on Prairie Island Road, right by the lake. The Kortum farm is also home to my mom, Julia “Kortum” (Richard) Schank, and my sister April (Bobby) Kelley.
Even though I was raised in Hordville, Central City has always been where my heart is. It’s where our family has deep roots—my grandparents, parents, and now our kids and grandkids all live or work right here in Central City or Merrick County.
Our kids Kaylee (Calvin) Frey, Brady (Olivia) Klute, and Shayna Klute, along with our sweet grandkids Alaric, Jensen, and Evie, all live nearby, and we love being surrounded by family.
I spent 20 years working as a nurse, and these days Scott and I run our own kettle corn food truck business. We’ve been happily married for almost 30 years, and we’re so thankful to be part of such a close-knit, supportive community.
I love the small-town feel of Central City—the friendly faces, the sense of belonging, and knowing that everything we need is right here."

Favorite thing about the Central City Community:
I love the small town atmosphere and our area community pride. I love that you know most everyone or they know you. I also love that we can enjoy the simple things in life while still having access to the necessities of everyday living.
