Mikaela Shaw

I grew up around the farming community of Edgar, NE. After undergrad at UNO (go mavs!) and dental school in Lincoln, I felt passionate about moving back to a rural community where I could make a larger impact and serve awesome, small town people. That brought me to Central City where I now work as the associate dentist at The Dentist.

Being on the Chamber of Commerce board will allow me to contribute more to the innovation that drew me to moving to Central City. Well run businesses and growth in the community are what drives Central City natives to move back to this area and attracts new professionals and families to move in. It is exciting to support that growth!

Favorite thing about the Central City Community: 
The community effort to never stand still. I see it in the new construction in town, success of businesses, support for local schools, and constant events, activities, and parades put on by numerous organizations. There are not many rural communities that are as prosperous as Central City, and it is really cool.
